VP PowerMaster took top honors in three classes at this year’s Nitro challenge. The Nitro Challenge is one of the most popular races of the year and kicks off every season with a bang. VP PowerMaster factory team driver and former World Champion Mark Pavidas and R/C Pro National Champ Mike Battaile spent their weekend at the front of the pack in the Nitro 1/8 Buggy Masters class. Mark took the overall TQ, but Mike was right there battling with him for the half of the main. Mark managed to stretch a little bit of a gap and went on to capture the win with Mike not far behind taking second place. Mike dominated the 1/8 Truck Masters class earning TQ and the win. Mark and Mike were both using VP PowerMaster Nitro Race 30% fuel for their wins.

Jason Branham was on fire at this year’s J-Concepts Southern Nationals in West Monroe, LA. Jason used VP/Power Master Nitro Race Car 30% fuel to not only take the win in Pro Buggy, but he also battled for the win in Pro Truggy. The Truggy main was intense. After a brutally long battle with Josh Wheeler, Jason had the lead going into the last lap, but just the slightest mistake by Jason in the crossover allowed Josh to get by, but Jason finished just two seconds behind in Second place.
The Pro Buggy final was a different story. After starting in the eighth position on the grid, Jason quickly made his way to the lead pack and began to get into his groove. He steadily knocked down a string of solid laps finally reaching the leader, Josh Wheeler. Jason made a move with just a few minutes left to go taking over the lead and never looked back. VP/PowerMaster Nitro Race 30% Car fuel is the top choice for most 1/8-scale off-road racers. Jason uses it exclusively in both of his 1/8 nitro machines. Ask for it at your local hobby shop. 3.24-25.12 - T&T Speedway – Shreveport, LA
Trends and Trains hobby shop and raceway in Shreveport, LA was the scene for the first annual Dialed Inc. Off-road Championships. In spite of the crazy storms that passed through the area dumping huge amounts of water on the track during the week prior to the event, the race charged on. With over 280 entries ready to do battle, Joey Christensen (The Dirt) did the impossible.
What was a soupy clay puddle of muck was transformed into a race-able surface in just a matter of a day. Even though there wasn’t much to work with and the track was just too soft to use a Bobcat, Joey and crew carved out a challenging layout. Once the track dried out and packed in, the surface began to bust apart and become very jagged. Some racers referenced the surface to that of the moon… However, this made for an incredibly challenging surface and produced some intensely close racing.
